What data sources does Forthsource use?
Forthsource pulls data from China's National Enterprise Credit Information System (NECIS), the Unified Social Credit System, official customs and trade databases, and third-party import/export data providers. All data is sourced from official or verified commercial sources.
How accurate is the AI trust score?
The trust score synthesizes hundreds of data points and is continuously updated. It's designed to surface red flags, not to guarantee a supplier's reliability. Use it as one input in your due diligence process alongside samples, reference checks, and factory audits.
Does the landed cost calculator include all fees?
The calculator covers import duties, VAT/GST, customs brokerage fees, freight estimates (air and sea), insurance, and port handling fees. It does not cover variable fees like anti-dumping duties that apply to specific products or trade situations.
Can I verify suppliers outside China?
Forthsource is currently optimized for Chinese supplier verification. We have limited data for suppliers in other manufacturing hubs (Vietnam, India, Bangladesh) — these features are on our roadmap for 2025.
